FAQs
The Method
What is the GTHR Method?
The GTHR Method focuses on full-body pilates principles in every class, to ensure you’re always getting a well-rounded, functional workout. We also embrace individual style amongst our instructors, so while every class will provide a full-body workout, you’ll be able to find an instructor and class style that suits your mood and needs. GTHR is all about coming together to support each other while maintaining individuality, and our classes are designed to reflect that, too.
How many classes a week should I take to see results?
We recommend attending 3-4 classes per week for optimal results. If you’d like to take class more frequently, our classes are safe and effective for daily practice, giving you the flexibility to achieve your health and fitness goals on your terms.
Do you offer classes for different levels?
Our Signature classes are designed for all levels, whether this will be your first pilates class or you’ve been practice for over a decade. Our instructors design our classes with the ability for exercises to be modified to suit your level, so that you feel comfortable and empowered to be your best.
What if this will be my first time on a pilates reformer?
No experience necessary! We suggest you come a few minutes early to class, and our instructors will introduce you to the reformer. We don’t use any jargon or insider language, and we’ll always explain the moves in a way that is understandable. Want a little extra help? You can always book a private session with one of our instructors to get some 1x1 training. Email privates@gthrpilates.com for more info.
Can I take class when I’m pregnant?
Check with your primary care physician or OB/GYN before attending a GTHR Pilates class or private session to assess whether you can take class. If you’re cleared to workout, please let your instructor know in advance of class start time so we can make the proper adjustments. Please keep us current on your health and wellness needs throughout your class, and don’t hesitate to drop us a note at hello@gthrpilates.com before your first class with us if there’s anything we can do to make your class experience even better.
Do I need to be a certain age to take class?
You must be at least 16 years old to attend class; Anyone under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian in-person before taking class in the studio.
Prepping for Class
What should I wear for class?
We suggest breathable, sweat-wicking clothes that enable you to move easily and comfortably. Tees, tanks, and leggings are a great starter pack. Grippy socks are required for all classes & private sessions – you may bring your own or purchase socks in-studio before class.
Are grip socks required?
Yes, grip socks are required for all classes, no exceptions. By wearing grip socks, you protect the machinery and yourself. You can bring your own grip socks to class, or you can purchase them in studio before class begins.
What can I bring into the reformer room with me?
We encourage you to bring water to stay hydrated, and we have towels available for use upon request. Classes are best experienced phone free; if you need to keep your phone on you, please refrain from texting or taking pictures/videos in the reformer room, so that other clients can have a fully focused experience.
Is there a changing room or showers?
Our studio has two restrooms which can be used for changing before and after class. Our studio does not have a shower on-site.
Do you have water in the studio?
Yes! We have water available for purchase, as well as a station for filling reusable bottles.

How do I sign up?
All of our bookings happen through our website in advance of class, where you can make an account, purchase your class(es), and pick your class time & reformer. We’re happy to accommodate walk-in bookings as space permits, but can’t guarantee availability for walk-in bookings. Do I get to pick my reformer in advance?
Of course! We wouldn’t have it any other way (because we have our favorite reformers, too). How does the waitlist work?
If you join the waitlist, you will be automatically added to class if a spot becomes available, up until 12 hours before class. After that, we will reach out to those on the waitlist via email as spots open up. If you receive an email about an open spot on the waitlist, you will have 60 minutes to respond before the next person on the waitlist is offered the spot.
